Several years ago, my brother jokingly asked me if I was going to blog about my adventures with my husband as we headed off to Slovakia and Austria to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
I decided that I was up for the challenge and Gallivanting Geismom was created.
It was fun to share my travels, and the blog had the added plus of being an active "diary" so that I could easily remember the special memories that sometimes fade over time.
With all of my children grown and out of the house, there always seems to be some great adventure worth documenting.....so why not?
And so, the suggestion became a reality, and just in case you might wonder:
Geismom is a clever combination of a family nickname that incorporates my favorite identity in life.
Mother of four......mother-in-law of two. (that makes 6 kids in my book!)
"Gramma G" to six beautiful, intelligent, delightful little ones.
And, last but not least, wife to a magnificent man who played a direct role in making all of this possible. (be sure to check out the page on my Gallivanting Partner! )

We met in college as lab partners and have been making great chemistry since!
Of course, the word, "Gallivanting", implies that I am wandering about, seeking pleasure or diversion.

But no worries, if you think that I have thrown my life to the wind, rest assured that I always plan to continue to be on my best behavior as I share my adventures with friends and family.
Welcome to my adventure! I'm thrilled to have you along!
