Busy at the Beach!

Hope you haven't been waiting with baited breath for my gallivanting report.  Let's just say that it's been pretty busy here!  From early morning until late evening, there's barely a moment where some sort of entertainment isn't happening!

Marty gets out early to scout out the beach conditions (and to try his hand at some fishing but not much excitement happening in that department) and on Tuesday he informed us that the winds were a blowin' and we'd have to forgo the canopy.  But that didn't deter us from slathering on the sunscreen, donning coverups, and heading down to just watch the waves!

Luckily, I devised a clever way to keep my hat from blowing away.

Ok....so it's not the most fashionable look.....but it kept my hat on my head!

And here's what happens when I loan my camera to my husband.

He loves his selfies!

We actually managed to spend a good part of the day just sitting and watching the waves.

After being wind blown for several hours, we decided to call it a day and head to the house where the party was just starting.

After dinner, there was a dance party going on

And Maddie tried her hand at teaching PapPap G some basic dance moves

I think she might have actually made some progress!

Yesterday, the weather looked a bit ominous at first, but quite to our surprise, turned out to be the perfect day for enjoying the sand and the surf!

Once again, we started out with donuts......this time they were Oreo donuts with cream cheese frosting....kind of like eating cake for breakfast.

As you can well imagine....they were a BIG hit!

After the lip smacking and finger licking, we donned our beachwear and headed down to the ocean for the day.

It was a bit windy, but nothing like Tuesday.

The littles started in the sand

made their way to dipping their toes in the makeshift baby pool

and before we knew it....cousin Maddie was joining them.

and here you see the whole lot of them having fun!

Quite the entertainment for sure!

The surf was great for some boogy boarding

and we couldn't forget the building of the beach fort!

These two ended the afternoon just waiting for the waves to roll in

while I kept an eye on this guy who was raiding the food supplies of those unsuspecting victims who were out enjoying the water!  Let's just say that the people next to us came back to less food than they had packed!

We headed back to the house for some pool time and another delicious family dinner,  after which we decided to head to the sound to watch the sunset....or at least what we could see of it.

I'd say that was pretty much perfect.

Well, I'd say that I've certainly proven the point that we have been busy!    Wouldn't you?

At the Beach with PapPap G

We're at the beach!  And you know what that means......Fun times for us!

And as the title suggests.....PapPap G is in house!  Or should I say "on beach"?  Or both?

We certainly haven't been lacking for fun here as Monday was a glorious day to get out and enjoy the sand and the sun.

But first.....up bright and early....we couldn't forget the annual tradition of making donuts!

Here Maddie shows her perfected technique of folding in the ingredients.

(And, don't tell anyone but I let them lick the icing)

By now, these two have pretty much perfected the art of frosting

and, as you can see,  they were excited about the finished result.

Look at that!  Finger licking yumminess!

And now that Gramma G supplied the sugar high...it was time to head to the beach!

The waves were perfect for hanging out with PapPap G.

and enjoying some waves.

Construction of the Sand Castle began

and Gramma G helped with all of those turrets!

In the meantime...these two bathing cuties were getting acclimated to their new surroundings.

And before you know it...they having fun in the sand too!

But it wasn't too  hard to spot when it was nap time!

In the meantime, these two were hanging out, waiting for the tide to roll into their creation

while their daddy and Pap Pap G tried their luck at some fishing.

And just looked what hopped on the line!

Looks like we have a new mullet man in the family!

We headed back to the house for some evening entertainment

and as the sun drew to a close

we had some fun playing with PapPap G

who seemed to be popping up everywhere!

Wait.....that's not Pap Pap!

And so...the new game of "Where's Pap Pap?"

kept these two busy for quite some time.

and certainly had me laughing!

And something tells me that there are going to be a lot more smiles as the week goes on!

I'll try to keep you posted....but I can't promise....I just might be having way too much fun!
