A Diamond Anniversary

Sixty years ago today, a monumental event occurred:  the marriage of this special couple.

Of course, I would be partial to the importance of this event, since these are my parents, and let's face it…..if they hadn't said,  "I do" sixty years ago…… this Gallivanting gal wouldn't be around to offer adventure around every corner.

How sad would that be?  (You need not feel obligated to answer that question.)

So, today was a day for celebrating….and that we did!

There was the special artwork presented by the grandchild who so graciously decided to be born on this couple's 50th Anniversary.  She's the "Golden Grandchild", of course!

And, quite obviously, artistically talented:

She knew how much her grandma loved hummingbirds!

The afternoon was filled with fun

Food

and family

some obviously interesting diversions

random entertainment

And let's not forget the cake!

which was certainly a big hit, needless to say

Finger-licking good, for sure!

I had every intention of finishing this blog with a photo of the "Diamond" couple, but the only one that I could find with them smiling had me right smack in the middle of them.

And  how could I resist posting that?

It certainly was a glorious day for celebrating!!

  3. What a milestone in their lives. It takes work to keep a marriage together, and humor and laughter and patience and forgetfulness and forgiveness... and best of all lots of love! Congratulations to the happy couple. Nanette
