Fabulous Friday

We knew that the weather for the day predicted rain, but when we awoke, bright and early, the skies were blue with white puffy clouds, so it made perfect sense that we would venture down to the beach.

But, not before some early morning toast out on the back deck.

and some help in the kitchen where Aunt Amy was making her famous cinnamon rolls.

How's that for perfection?

Just look at that beautiful sky. Seeming perfect, isn't it?

While sitting here in the morning with few people around, I watched at least a dozen dolphins swimming in a row, not far from the shoreline.  I just hadn't brought my zoom camera with me down to the beach, so I've no photos to share with you.

Regarding the fishing report, today was another Spot today, but it seemed that they came in twos with nearly every catch.

There were at least a dozen caught. I just decided that I had more exciting things to photograph.

The twins joined us for some fishing of their own.

Funny how they always manage to reel in a little blue fish, isn't it?

Here we made Maddie into an octopus. Now that was a real hoot!

And just when we were in the peak time for fun.....the grey skies rolled in, and the rain came.

We stood under our canopies, waiting for a break, as the rain continued to fall at a fairly hard rate.

A bit of blue sky peeked through as a teaser, but it was obvious that more storms were coming, so we headed back up to the beach house.

We were treated to Pina Coladas (after all, we had just gotten caught in the rain), which were non-alcoholic for the kids.

As you can see, they were thoroughly enjoyed.

Aunt Heather put french braids into all of the red headed girls

and Maddie read the girls a story before dinner.

Then, there was a game of Snug as a Bug in a Rug.

Unfortunately, the stink bugs won. But that didn't dampen anyone's spirits!

Dinner was meatballs and spaghetti.

Can you tell that it was a real hit?

Dessert was Paul Newman cake, something that we've made for years and I can honestly say that I have no idea why it has that name.  But I can say, it is always delectable!!

Tomorrow is our last day here.  Once again, the time seems to have flown past.  But we won't get disheartened just yet.  We'll make every attempt to enjoy the last day to the fullest.

I'll try to keep you posted, but I might not get a final blog out until we get home.
Thanks for following along!
